The holy command of Shri Guru has been that we shall serve Godhead in association with one another. By the word ‘we’ he did not mean any one individual. There are many persons who are very selfish, indeed. They say, ‘I alone shall serve. It is incumbent on me alone. No one else has any claim to join me in my service of Godhead.’

Swamiji, you should meet Mr. Vyas. He is a Brahmin and very favorable person for religious activities. He will definitely help you. He is the boss of the factory.”
With this information we again climbed the steps and walked in front of the office in which we were humiliated just moments ago. We prayed to Srila Prabhupada for his mercy and knocked. We were immediately let in.

He would never allow us to criticize his god brothers. “They are my god brothers. I can criticize them. I can, you can’t. We have a different relationship.”

The yearly bhagavat katha at the end of the year in Pune conducted by H.H. Lokanath Swami has shown to be quite successful. A couple of thousand of devotees/guests are attending the katha daily and there is good scope for preaching and book distribution. It also gives the devotees the good opportunity to end the year and start the New Year with absorption in Krsna katha, contemplating on the pastimes of the Lord, remembering the Lord, associating and taking prasadam with devotees, etc.

At last Sunday’s services and feast there were a large number (35) of kids from Walden Charter School in Provo. The teacher, Eric Beecroft, brought them in anticipation of a class room presentation which we did this morning (Tuesday). I was impressed both Sunday and this morning with the level of intelligence of the kids and the preparation the teacher had given them. There were questions about dharma, karma, moksha, yoga etc.

The occasion was the monthly youth festival Prerana, which was graced by the presence of H.H. Radhanath Maharaj. He spoke on the Power of Prayers.

Every year so many devotees go to India to attend festivals or go on pilgrimage, or to go shopping for temple stores or personal business. For the veteran India goers who know their way around it is a return to a familiar place. For many others, however, it is an exciting first journey to an ancient land of spiritual bliss and culture. A substantial amount of these first-timers will go through culture shock, acclimatize poorly in the limited time available, get cheated left and right, have a hard time getting around and dealing with the

Belarus has not met a 12 November deadline, set by the United Nations Human Rights Committee, to report its correction of a violation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). In a decision with implications for many religious communities, Belarus was found to have violated two Hare Krishna devotees’ religious freedom rights by refusing to register a nationwide Hare Krishna association. Without registration the association’s activity is illegal under Belarus’s harsh religion law. One of the devotees, Sergei Malakhovsky, told Forum 18 News Service that the only reply the state had given

I just watched part one of a two-part television programme called “Preachers to be.” It followed the journeys of trainee preachers in three of the UK’s largest religions: Islam, Christianity and Hinduism. The preachers-to-be representing Hinduism were two Hare Krishna students based at Bhaktivedanta Manor near Watford. The emphasis of their training was on becoming qualified Brahmanas and thus being allowed to serve the deities on the altar and perform a wedding ceremony and other rituals within the temple.

From Kurma’s blog: Probably my most often asked question is how to successfully replace eggs in a cake.

Book distribution in the local trains of Bombay (Mumbai) is a very intense experience with hundreds of people pushing and nudging one another in a small compartment. In one such compartment we were facing a huge crowd of around 150 people. Some were seated while most were standing before us. It was Aniruddha Prabhu’s (a brahmachari from the Manor) first experience of Book Distribution in Bombay’s trains.

Commenting on the success of the film, Sandeep Bhargava, chief operating officer of Sahara One Motion Pictures, says: ‘This film has appealed to audiences of all age groups. The film has started well and will pace up in the coming weeks.
