The holy command of Shri Guru has been that we shall serve Godhead in association with one another. By the word ‘we’ he did not mean any one individual. There are many persons who are very selfish, indeed. They say, ‘I alone shall serve. It is incumbent on me alone. No one else has any claim to join me in my service of Godhead.’
Happy World Vegetarian Awareness Month - October
World Vegetarian Day - October 1st
Think of the Sunday Feast as a channel, and then think of programs to show on that channel. Publish the equivalent of a “TV Guide”. Maybe people will come for their favorite shows. Maybe some will come all the time.
Can they clone a human being?
They can. They will. They may already have.
Does a clone have a soul?
Yes. A clone has consciousness, and consciousness means soul.
How does the soul enter the cloned body?
No problem. It already happens in nature, with identical twins. One cell splits into two bodies, and by Krsna’s arrangement a soul enters both.
The Supreme Court today allowed the Delhi government to adopt the action plan to clean river Yamuna, in line with the steps taken by the British government to clean river Thames.
The Court approved the action plan for constructing sewage treatment plants at all points where major drains meet the river Yamuna, so that no untreated sewage gets discharged into the river.
Digital technology is now flourishing.
Taking advantage of this for Krsna’s service,
we have produced more opportunities to associate
with previous acaryas while performing day-to-day tasks.

We hear many stories of devotees receiving special treatment from people who used to attend the Krishna Lunch program-bank managers, police officers and many more have gone out of their way to show their appreciation. This ongoing column will highlight the best stories about the power of prasadam.
In our first installment, Badrinarayana Prabhu, Governing Body Commissioner tells about his experience with a former Krishna Lunch patron.
It was around 1990 and I was temple president in San Diego when I was invited to be on a radio talk show hosted by Dan Something. This guy was …
Guest (1): When you chant, do you have to think what you’re saying? How can you do other things?
Prabhupada: Other things?
Guest (1): Well, many things require your concentration.
Prabhupada: Well, let us first of all chant the holy name. Then w…
The Varnasrama College Motto: “To use everything that we have in Krsna’s service, particularly those arts and sciences from Vedic culture, by preserving them, teaching them to our students and then offering the results of that to Krsna and everyone else.”
“Without doubt, the greatest celebration on the planet of Janmashtami takes place at Bhaktivedanta Manor”, described Radhanth Swami in front of nearly a thousand devotees at the annual Volunteers Evening.
There are many old friends here, some of whom I’ve known since I was a teenager in the 1960s. Those of you who are new to this kind of gathering, let me say that you are in very distinguished company. Many of the men and women around you have been serving the mission of Krsna consciousness for 30 years or more.
To conquer the mind means to disengage one’s consciousness from materiality and engage it instead with Krishna, the Supreme Lord. Having conquered the mind, the true yogi - linked with the Supreme Lord in consciousness and thus in all thoughts and actions - is raised to the spiritual platform, where he may participate in the eternal, fully knowlegeable, and ever-blissful nature of Krishna and turn away from the decaying, dualistic, and illusory world of Maya - the material world with which we conditioned souls have been engaged for countless lifetimes.
Yudhishthira Maharaj said, “Oh MadhusUdana, Oh killer of the Madhu demon,
what is the name of the EkAdasii that occurs during the dark fortnight (krishna
paksha) of the month of Ashwin (September-October)? Please describe its
glories to me.”
Prasadam is spiritual, not different from Krishna.
It purifies the heart (different levels of potency).
It frees one from sinful reactions.
We can simply eat our way back to Godhead.
Srila Prabhupada writes in the purport to 8.28:
“Study of the Vedas is not meant for the recreation of armchair speculators, but for the formation of character.”
What is character? Good character can be seen as the mature quality of a person who endeavors to act based on the understanding of principles rather than reactively and according to circumstance. This can have both a positive and negative context. In the negative sense a devotee may be presented with an opportunity to enjoy unrestricted sense gratification but due to having an understanding of sastric principles he restrains himself. In the positive instance there

“Come out with your samosas up!”
told by Braja Bihari das
It was 1984 and after distributing books at the State Fairgrounds in Tampa, Florida. We had parked in a Days Inn parking lot for the night. Our van of five brahmacharis was fast asleep when we heard over a megaphone, “Alright in there! Come out slowly with your hands raised!” I looked out the
window surprised to see the van surrounded by ten police cars and more than a dozen officers with their guns drawn!
We emerged from the van squinting from the bright flashlights burning our eyes. The …
The Puranas describe a number of time cycles within cycles. Discussions of these cycles can become confusing because different cycles are measured in different types of units. For example, the cycles are often described in units of deva years ( years in the higher planets ), each of which equals 360 human years.
Harinama-sankirtana (the congregational chanting of the holy names of the Lord) may be most familiar from seeing the devotees out in the streets, dancing and chanting the maha-mantra Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare accompanied by mridangas (two headed drums) and karatalas (hand cymbals). Krishnas holy names are endowed with all of His potencies and this sound vibration can reawaken a person to his spiritual identity and existence.

Just a dozen years after Charles Darwin published The Origin of Species in 1859, growing numbers of scientists and other educated persons considered it impossible, indeed laughable, to suppose that humans were anything other than the modified descendants of an ancestral line of apelike creatures.
The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) belongs to the Gaudiya Vaishnava sampradaya (denomination or tradition), an ancient monotheistic tradition within Vedic or Hindu culture.
I head to Mandurah (a satellite city near Perth) tomorrow for an evening cookery class. Thursday I pack my bags for a one-month cookery teaching tour around Australia. First stop: Melbourne, Friday.

Otherwise I’ll keep you posted as I wend my way across this big brown land.
For many people, the act of stopping at a fast food joint, for a quick bite of a hamburger is commonplace. Rarely does the thought cross one’s mind that what is being eaten, was once alive, like us, breathing and feeling. The end-product is so expertly dressed and processed, that linking it to a gentle, brown-eyed cow gazing peacefully in a meadow, or a chirpy, bright-eyed, soft furred chick, is almost impossible, if not repugnant.
When Badrinarayan prabhu gave class the other day, he mentioned another
incident related to sankirtan. He was in one country going door to door
selling painitings to support his family.
The prayers offered by Visvanatha Cakravarti to his Spiritual Master have a special significance. His Spiritual Master was one of the assistant gopis, so the prayer was offered like that. On the whole, the Spiritual Master is an agent of Krishna. But either He is assistant to the gopis or assistant to the cowherds boys, He is on the level of Krishna. That is the verdict of all scriptures. Krishna is worshipable God and the Spiritual Master is worshipper God. The exact words are sebya (worshipable) and sebak (worshipper). ….. generally those who are attracted very much to

Hyderabad, Sept. 24: In this age of religious bigotry,
many Muslim organisations of the State are working
tirelessly to preserve rare Hindu scriptures. The

one of its kind in the world.
