The holy command of Shri Guru has been that we shall serve Godhead in association with one another. By the word ‘we’ he did not mean any one individual. There are many persons who are very selfish, indeed. They say, ‘I alone shall serve. It is incumbent on me alone. No one else has any claim to join me in my service of Godhead.’
Dear Devotees,
Hare Krsna! Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! All glories to Sri Nrsimhadeva!
Yesterday New Talavan and New Orleans were hit by Hurricane Katrina, a devastating Category 5 storm with sustained winds of 175 MPH. The eye of the storm came ashore near Gulfport and Biloxi, Mississippi, and passed within 10 miles of New Talavan.
Some wisdom from Ancient India:
“Learn one thing from a lion, one from a crane, four from a cock, five

strenuous effort.
The wise man should restrain his senses like the crane and

To wake at the proper time; to take a bold stand and fight; to make

Thank you Srila Prabhupada for all your transcendental literature. When I was first leaning about Krishna consciousness someone sold me a Krishna Book at the London Rathayatra (2001). I had previously tried to read your Bhagavad-Gita, but was too proud and contaminated with impersonalism and atheism to understand even a word of it. Then however, […]

In 1996 I published a seven-hundred page book on the history of the Hare Krishna Movement in Australia entitled The Great Transcendental Adventure. The book also serves as a biography of the movements founder and Acharya, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, affectionately known as Srila Prabhupada (1896 - 1977).
Today is the birthday of Srila Prabhupada, and in every Hare Krishna Temple around the world, a festival celebrating his great life and contribution to the world is in progress.
To commemorate the day, here’s an excerpt from my book:

Received this letter:
Hi!
I am enquiring about the curry leaf and where to purchase it from. I am
managing an IGA store in Mundubbera Qld, where I have had a customer request
them. I would only be looking at purchasing a very small quantity as I
believe they have a very short shelf life. If it was impossible to get a
hold of, what would be a suitable substitute?
Looking forward to your response.

My response:
Hello D!
Curry leaves grow easily in Qld, so there should be not a big problem in obtaining them. They are usually available from

Dear Srila Prabhupada,
Please accept my most respectful obeisances.

human being from self-destruction. It often seems that the whole world
is on the brink of ruination. As Kali-yuga progresses and the modes of
material nature become less compatible with natural human culture I
pray that the needed clarity dawns upon myself and others that this
material world is not our home.
