The holy command of Shri Guru has been that we shall serve Godhead in association with one another. By the word ‘we’ he did not mean any one individual. They suffer immensely yet want me to join them– misery loves company?I look down at my palm and see it is my fate–self-fulfilling prophecy?Perhaps, yet prophecy nonetheless– masochistic? Maybe also. But knowledge is there– no happiness in this world regardless of material circumstances. Only thing I can do is focus inward and serve the One.
He told me he’s on the brink. Every day a slip away. And we all are on shaky ground, the razor’s edge, or fragile ice. Clouding ourselves in confidence but at any time it cracks. I looked at the lady at the register, her face about to burst into tears. It wouldn’t work and no one would help, just frustrated customers and I think if one would have yelled she would have lost it right there. A friend was sharing his problems, how he is in a rut and all, and I told him that this could be good because problems force us to look deeper within ourselves. He replied that he has already looked within and knows what is the matter but can’t do anything about it. I didn’t have an answer. But then it hit me today as I was in the temple. I have been traveling and preaching in Poland for the last 10 days. I arrived in Warsaw and went with my disciple Yadunandana dasa, to a festival in Wroclaw. Before the festival I gave a lecture at a yoga conference and then the next day I taught a yoga class at the same conference. Yoga (hatha) has become popular in most countries now around the world.
